Workshop 2
Data centres for logistics
The advancing development of digitalisation is affecting practically every sector worldwide. For many businesses, information technology (IT) is shifting from a support process to a primary process. Data centres form the digital infrastructure that brings digital traffic together. It is not without reason that the Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX), the network that links together numerous data centres, has been described as the Netherlands’ third mainport. 5PL Control Towers that integrate and monitor information technologies from various businesses from all across the chain are focusing on innovation and transparency within the logistic sector. Certainly combined with artificial intelligence (AI) it is possible to serve a distinctive innovative environment, focused on value creation within logistics.
